Dear Family,

The Christmas season is upon us! Like you, we’re thinking about buying the right gifts, enjoying family gatherings, and savoring sweet cinnamon rolls for Christmas morning breakfast. We can’t wait!

None of those Christmas traditions, however, are on the mind of Fanny Gwadirani. Fanny (pictured below) lives in the village of Chididi, in Malawi, Africa. She is a widowed mother of five children, and she is struggling to feed herself and her family. As she sat on the stoop of her tiny mud brick house, Fanny shared her struggles:

“Hunger is at the worst point here in Malawi. We’ve eaten the last of the mangos. We have nothing to eat now, so we just drink water. Our children sleep with hunger.”

“We have to walk a long distance to get our water. And that water is causing diseases. Many are dying, especially the young children and the elderly.”

“Now it is time to plant seeds in our gardens, but seeds have become very costly. So has fertilizer. We can’t afford to buy them.” Fanny asked, “If possible, please give us anything we can eat.”

The crisis in Malawi is the result of a cyclone two years ago, followed last year by a drought.

Out of desperation, some families have succumbed to scavenging for roots. One family, after going five days of not eating, went out in search of anything edible. The roots they found and ate were poisonous. All eight children in that family died.

The situation is now dire. But you can make a big difference, for Fanny, her children, and thousands just like them. For just $61, you can provide clean water, food, training of poor Malawians to successfully multiply their harvests, and the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Heaven’s Family, because of donors like you, has already lifted thousands of Africa’s poorest families from extreme poverty through our Farming God’s Way program, and we’ve already drilled 65 water wells. All we lack to help more people is you!

• Train 9,000 families on how to grow, harvest, and sell their crops through our Farming God’s Way program, empowering them to lift themselves from poverty
• Drill water wells in multiple villages providing safe, clean water
