Christians in Pakistan Are Under Attack

On August 16th, 2023, a horrifying incident unfolded as a Muslim mob, driven by incitements from local clerics and led by a radical Islamist political party, unleashed chaos upon a Christian community in Jaranwala. Thousands of people descended upon the area, leaving destruction in their wake, all under the false accusation of blasphemy.

In their rampage, over 24 churches were vandalized and countless houses were looted and set on fire.

The repercussions of this violence have been severe. Our Pakistani partners have reported Christian families huddling in fear in open fields, their homes reduced to ashes. Many children have burns on their bodies. Some Christians have gone missing. The entire community is grappling with the aftermath of this senseless attack.

As we stand with our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ, we recognize the urgency of their situation. Hundreds of families are hungry with no place to call home. Our partners' immediate focus is on providing these families with essentials like hot meals, medicine, blankets, and shelter.

The reality for these families is stark. Rebuilding homes and churches is a monumental task that will take time. But right now, we can help address their immediate needs.
