A 13-year-old boy is about to be sent to an orphanage.
Not because he isn’t loved…
But because his mother cannot afford to feed him.
Billy is 13 years old.
He’s hardworking. Joyful. A natural leader. Every day, he comes to a small garden in rural Haiti, eager to learn how to grow food—something he proudly calls “his garden.”
But recently, something changed.
One afternoon, Billy sat quietly, withdrawn and distant.
Later, we learned why.
His mother was planning to send him to an orphanage.
Not because she doesn’t love him.But because she cannot afford to feed him.
Billy’s story is heartbreaking — but it’s not unique.
Across Haiti, families are facing impossible choices.
Parents love their children deeply. They work hard. But when there isn’t enough food… when school is out of reach… when survival becomes uncertain…
Desperation takes over.
And children are separated from their families—not because they are unloved… but because of poverty.
Despite hundreds of millions of dollars poured into relief efforts, many families remain trapped in this cycle.
Temporary solutions aren’t enough.
Seeds Today, Leaders Tomorrow
At the heart of this program is Farming God’s Way—a biblically based approach that teaches families how to grow food, restore the land, and build sustainable livelihoods.
When a child learns how to grow food:
- Hunger is replaced with provision
- Dependence is replaced with dignity
- Families stay together
Instead of being sent to an orphanage, Billy can stay with his mother.
He can learn.
He can grow.
He can build a future.
This program will serve 25 vulnerable youth—providing:
- Daily meals (6 days a week)
- Hands-on farming training
- School support (tuition, uniforms, supplies)
- Discipleship and mentorship
- Basic health care
- $1,828 = supports one child for one year
- $45,700 = fully funds the program for 25 children
Every gift brings us closer to keeping families together
This is not just help for today.
This is an investment that multiplies.
As these young people grow, they will:
- Help provide food for their families
- Strengthen their communities
- Raise the next generation differently
This is how poverty is broken—not temporarily, but permanently.
Everything Billy needs to stay with his family.
Everything he needs to avoid the path that leads to an orphanage.
Will you help make this possible?
Will you help keep children like Billy out of orphanages and with their families?
Will you help provide the training, nourishment, and discipleship that can transform lives for the long term?
