The people struggled terribly in the impoverished village of Muhembe, Rwanda. Then, our ministry partners began to teach Farming God’s Way, an effective farming method which includes a strong discipleship component. Positive things began to happen in the community, but there was no access to clean water and no way to irrigate their gardens and food crops. The very hilly terrain made fetching water even more exhausting. Water-related illness was common.

Kids toiled under the tedious task of finding and fetching water forcing them to often miss school. Due to such hardship in successfully growing food, one man in the village, Emmanuel, feeling hopeless occupied his time with drinking alcohol instead of farming crops. The neighbors called him “crazy” because of his crazy, alcohol-induced behavior.

Now, thanks to your generous gifts to the Heaven’s Family Safe Water Ministry, you were able to help the village by funding a gravity flow water system from an underground mountain spring, piping water from high above to several water points below in the village.

Their lives have been completely changed!

Emmanuel’s life has changed, too! When the water came to the village he stopped drinking and got to work. He planted 300 cabbage seedlings and they are growing great because there is water.
