From Orphanage to Home: A Journey of Restoration

Life was not easy for brothers Ro Thang Lian (13) and Jonah (12). Their parents had divorced— their father left for Malaysia in search of work, and their mother remarried and moved away. That left the boys in the care of their aging grandparents, who struggled to provide for them.
When COVID and the military coup in Myanmar made their village unsafe—and with no school nearby—the boys were sent to live in an orphanage where even their aunt had once grown up. But it was far from easy. The brothers didn’t speak Burmese and couldn’t attend school for a year. Lonely and uncertain, their future looked bleak.
That’s when Kinnected Myanmar, one of Heaven’s Family’s trusted partners, stepped in. Social workers visited the boys’ mother and stepfather, slowly building trust and encouraging them to reunite their family. With prayer, patient support, and practical help—including repairing the family’s tiny home and providing food—the parents finally welcomed the boys back home.
Today, Ro Thang Lian and Jonah are thriving. They are attending public school, making friends, and excelling in their studies. Their stepfather has become supportive of their education, and their family—once fractured—is now growing closer to God. The boys’ mother says she is overjoyed to have her sons back, and the children feel safe, secure, and deeply loved.
This reunion is nothing short of a testimony of God’s grace. What once looked like another story of loss has become a story of restoration and hope.
Because of your prayers and generosity to Heaven’s Family, vulnerable children like Ro Thang Lian and Jonah are not just surviving—they are being reunited with family, growing in faith, and flourishing in the love of Christ.
Thank you for helping make stories like this possible. Truly, no deed is small when done for Jesus.
