Abandoned Family Now has Hope for the Future

Because of your generosity, Mary and her children have a new hope for their future.
Mary is a young mother of four living in Kenya who has faced many hardships over the years. Her husband abandoned them six years ago, and two of her children have special needs. Millicent,16, has an undiagnosed psychological disorder. After birth she had seizures which disabled her from talking until she was six. Millicent is no longer in school because Mary can’t afford the fees to send her.
Her son Steve,12, is very bright but has a severe sleeping disorder. One moment he is talking and the next he falls over and isn’t able to be awakened. Mary tries to stay by him all the time to support him so he doesn’t fall and hurt himself when he unexpectedly falls asleep. He has no control over this disorder, and Mary can’t afford the medicine that will help him sleep through the night. He was attending a special school, but, as with Millicent, Mary could not keep up with the fees. Now he attends a public school that cannot meet his needs.
Thanks to you, Mary is currently receiving sewing lessons through a grant from Heaven’s Family. Her hopes are to become a tailor and eventually be able to support her family. In the meantime, because of your help with a small business grant, Mary and Millicent run a small retail shop near their home.

Mary is teaching Millicent everything she needs to know to operate the store while she is away at her sewing classes. Once having no hope for her future, Millicent is now gaining valuable skills that will positively impact her and her family. Her self-confidence is growing, and she and her mother are able to bring necessary income into the family. The hope is that Mary will be able to afford medicines for Steve and that she will also be able to pay the school fees so he can return to the special school.
Thank you for providing life-changing support for this family!
