Sanjok, a 9-year-old boy, lives in the mountains of Nepal in a very poor rural community. His family, like many other families in the area, sustain themselves and make a small living through farming. Because of their low economic state, Sanjok’s family can not afford to pay for the required school supplies and uniform that he must have to attend school each year and so he was not able to go to school.

Sanjok loves to learn and desired to attend school but often he instead filled his days with helping on the farm because his family could not afford to send him to school. But this is not just Sanjok’s story; he is just one of many children living in this area of Nepal who prayerfully hope to attend school but know that they may never get to attend because of their families’ financial state.
