Since her mother’s passing, Leela has been left with no family—only the kindness of a few friends from her church.Her life changed sixty years ago when a friend invited her to a prayer meeting. There, she experienced a powerful moment of faith, seeing Jesus in pure light, and chose to follow Him from that day on. Leela worked faithfully for many years, but four years ago, during the Covid pandemic, she suffered a stroke that forced her into retirement.Now, she lives off her late husband’s pension—just $19 a month. It’s not enough to cover basic necessities like food and medicine, so she relies on monthly food kits to get by.Leela is not alone in this struggle.
