Many Widows in India suffer from food insecurity. You can help provide monthly food kits which would keep 400 widows from going hungry.Leela is a 77-year-old widow who, until just ten months ago, was caring for her 103-year-old mother. Since her mother’s passing, Leela has been left with no family—only the kindness of a few friends from her church. Her life changed sixty years ago when a friend invited her to a prayer meeting. There, she experienced a powerful moment of faith, seeing Jesus in pure light, and chose to follow Him from that day on. Leela worked faithfully for many years, but four years ago, during the Covid pandemic, she suffered a stroke that forced her into retirement. Now, she lives off her late husband’s pension—just $19 a month. It’s not enough to cover basic necessities like food and medicine, so she relies on monthly food kits to get by.Leela is not alone in this struggle. Alongside her, 400 other women—widows, mothers living with HIV, and those who have been abandoned—depend on these monthly food baskets to survive. For just $34, you can help provide a nourishing food kit that includes rice, potatoes, onions, oil, tea, sugar, and beans—enough to help one woman get through the month without going hungry. To support all 400 women next month, we’re aiming to raise $13,530. Every gift makes a difference. Will you help?
