There Were Seven in the Bed
A celebration of bountiful harvests, clean water, a new home, and best of all, God's love

In the Rwandan village of Kaburemera, Innocent and Josephine’s family of seven had been living in a small one-room house for more than 12 years. The single bed they all shared was the only piece of furniture in the house. As a bicycle taxi driver, Innocent earns a meager 53 cents per day, and that’s on a good day.
One day, one of Heaven’s Family’s Farming God’s Way (FGW) trainers was visiting their village to check up on the progress of a Heaven’s Family water well project. Learning about Innocent and Josephine’s struggles, he shared with them how FGW could dramatically improve their lives. They could have enough food to eat plus some to sell. To start, they needed to join a God’s Love Group where, each week, they would not only learn FGW methods but also learn how to follow Jesus.
Soon, their God’s Love Group, along with several others, initiated a campaign to build Innocent and Josephine a better home. Volunteers, mostly youth, rallied together to raise funds. Then they constructed a much larger two-room home. Josephine now says she feels like she is in heaven!
Not long after, the entire village gathered to not only celebrate Innocent and Josephine’s new house but also a new water well that provides clean, safe water for everyone. More than 350 people attended, and tears of joy flowed freely.
Thank you for playing a vital role in touching so many lives in Kaburemera. For the glory of God, together we are empowering poor African families to lift themselves from poverty and multiply disciples of Jesus.
