When God Grows the Garden–and the Gospel

In western Uganda, Charles, a father of five, lived with constant struggle. Raised in poverty and beaten by his alcoholic father for asking about school, Charles never finished his education. As an adult, the cycle continued. Renting a single room and farming borrowed land with outdated methods, he was barely surviving. His children went to bed hungry. “Sometimes, I questioned why I was even born,” Charles said.

Still, he never gave up on God—or his call to make disciples.

Then, because of your support, our partners introduced Charles to Farming God’s Way—a biblical, sustainable method of farming. That training changed everything.

Starting with just 100 seed potatoes, his harvest multiplied. From 4 basins, he grew 7 sacks. From 7 sacks, he harvested 65—high-quality produce that sold for a profit. With those earnings, Charles bought land, began building a home, and got his children back in school.

“My kids eat balanced meals now,” he shared. “I can pay rent, and we’re helping other families too.”

Charles even started a school for vulnerable children—those, like him, born into poverty but deserving a future. And he’s still making disciples. During one farming training, 17 people gave their lives to Christ—and 7 were baptized.

“I thank Heaven’s Family for reaching communities like ours. My life wouldn’t have changed without your help. I now know God truly is our provider.”

Because of your support, Charles’s life—and community—has been transformed. Through faith and farming, he’s now feeding families and multiplying disciples in Jesus’ name.

Thank you for giving families like Charles’s the tools to not just survive but thrive.
