Some Final Photos

All the new female believers in Molande Village still wear their traditional Muslim hijabs. But it is purely cultural. We found vibrant faith in Jesus in every Muslim village we visited in southern Malawi that has been reached through Farming God’s Way combined with disciple-multiplication in God’s Love Group house churches.

Thanks so much to everyone who has joined me during my 13-day trip to Zimbabwe and Malawi. Jerry Jefferson and I have only been able to see a small fraction of Heaven’s Family’s impact in these two nations. To see it all would actually require months of our time. So we are thankful for our dedicated indigenous partners with whom we have been working for many years for the common cause of expanding Jesus’ kingdom. Our periodic site visits, like this one over the past 13 days, are only one layer of accountability that we provide to those who invest in Heaven’s Family. All of our indigenous partners are held accountable by local boards of trustees, regular detailed reporting to us, and transparent bank accounts that we access on-line and monitor. 


It all starts, however, with folks like you, who use their God-given opportunities, muscles and brains to provide value to others in their daily vocations, and who share a portion of their earnings to help those whom Jesus referred to as “the least of these my brothers” (Matt. 25:31-46) and to make disciples as Jesus commanded (Matt. 28:18-20). We’re trying to obey the Great Commission and the Great Commandment through wholistic ministry. Thanks again!

To date, Heaven’s Family has drilled around 70 water wells in rural southern Malawi. This one is typical. Safe water means dramatically less illness. It can also save hours of time spent every day carrying water from a distant water source. At every village we visited over the past few days, the residents either thanked us for the water well Heaven’s Family has already provided or begged for the water well that they don’t yet have.
This photo includes many of the residents of Biliati Village who were recently ravaged by flash floods due to an overflowing nearby river. Heaven’s Family helped with emergency relief supplies for which they thanked us. Most of these folks are Farming God’s Way, and some lost all their crops due to the floods.

This man is using the pile of dirt that used to be his house to make bricks for his new house. He told me that the bricks dry in about a week if they get enough sunshine.
All that remains of this family’s house is in the background. The father of the family was out working when we visited. He likely makes no more than $6 a day.
I actually took this photo two years ago when I last visited Malawi. I think this little boy had never seen anyone like me!
