When Heaven’s Family’s partner began disciple-making in Karama, they discovered something heartbreaking: parents were hiding their disabled children.Josephine was abandoned by her husband and left to raise her daughter, Esther, alone. “Sometimes I had no choice but to leave her locked inside while I searched for food,” she shared.And Ornella, abandoned at birth because of her disability, is being raised by her elderly grandmother Beatrice. With no mattress, no diapers, and little food, every day is a struggle for survival.No child should ever be hidden away.
