I’m a widowed mother of five.
My culture calls me “cursed”.

All women deserve to feel loved and cherished.

Widows are not valued, and even viewed as a curse, in many of the cultures we serve, leaving them impoverished with no where to go and no one to turn to.

Oftentimes, abandoned mothers find themselves homeless or living in undesirable conditions because the husband’s family has disowned them.

Widows are affected by armed conflicts, displacement, and migration such as the LRA in Uganda, civil war in Guatemala, and Sudanese conflicts that forced women into refuge camps in Kenya.

You Can Help

A simple gift can help widows and abandoned women lift themselves from poverty

Provide land grants and house construction that allows for long-term security, especially for elderly widows who can no longer work

Empower and equip widows and abandoned women to lift themselves from poverty through specialized job trainings

Teach widows and abandoned women that their worth and identity is found in Jesus Christ, and they are loved, cherished, and valued.

What’s been accomplished so far…

My culture does not define me.
Jesus does.
